Paperscapes

A labour of love.

Album art for a CD my uncle and auntie wrote and made. It took more than a year to complete this project. But it took them twenty years to make this album, from the day they met in university and started writing songs together. They got married, had kids, and came full circle mastering this album at Abbey Road studios, London.

Paperscapes--by Earnest and Mingli (E +ML)

The sound is very organic, very raw--E has some wicked sick acoustic guitar skills, and ML has a warm and very feminine voice. Each of their songs comes with a background story, a little peek at their journey as growing adults.

So I used very light colours and imagery to illustrate their journey.

And origami, because paper is so fragile, yet can be so firm when folded. It can keep its shape, it can float, it can fly--yet you never forget that it is inherently fragile.

So the name "paperscapes" was born.
